What is a pronoun?
A pronoun takes the place of a noun so you do not have to repeat it. Instead of 'Sam lost Sam's hat', you say 'Sam lost his hat'. Common pronouns are I, you, he, she, it, we and they.
Examples
- 'Maria is tired, so she went to bed.' She replaces Maria.
- it, we, they, him and her are all pronouns.
- 'The ball is red. It is round.' It replaces the ball.
