Year 1 Christmas maths worksheets
A free 3-page Christmas maths booklet for Year 1, set in an Australian summer Christmas. Addition facts and story problems within 20, halving a collection, skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s, and using a December calendar to count the sleeps until Christmas Day. Print it for the class, turn on the answer key for marking, or switch edition for a fresh set with the same skills.
How to use it in class
- Page 1 is a ten-minute warm-up: the addition facts come from the same generator as our Year 1 addition sheets.
- Model the first story problem on the board with a number sentence, then let students work in pairs.
- The calendar questions pair nicely with a real December calendar on the wall.
Is it right for my class?
Pitched at end-of-year Year 1. For a class that needs more support, start with the Foundation booklet; for early finishers, the Year 2 booklet is the natural next step.
24 questions over 3 pages. After the warm-up the pages are story problems, so students read more there; read them aloud for early readers.
